After a weeklong lunch time tournament, it came down to two teams. The Legends and The Reds battled for the 2nd Annual Futsol (indoor soccer) Championship. ASB coordinated the event from sign-ups to set up and Coach Aguiniga served as the MC and head referee.
After going up 2-0 early in the match, The Reds looked like it was going to be an easy match. However, The Legends stormed back and scored two goals in the final two minutes to even the score 2-2 at halftime.
The second half saw more face-paced action with each team scoring once to make it a 3-3 tie with less than a minute remaining. After some fast passing, The Reds were able to slot a goal to go up 4-3. The Legends gave it their all over the final seconds, but came up short.
Thanks to all the teachers who stopped by the championship game and showed their support including Mr. Camacho, Mr. Chavez, Mr. Espinoza, Mr. Morales, and Mr.Salazar. Other teachers stopped by during the week as well.
Also, a special thanks to our Superintendent, Dr. Julie Mitchell, for stopping by and watching the action.
The Reds will have their name and team picture put on the perpetuity plaque, which will be housed in the Principal's office for the remainder of the year.
