Noble Regiment Earns Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Invite

Nogales HS--For the second time in seven years under the direction of Mr. Brad Pollock, the Nogales Noble Regiment received an invitation to participate in the 2015 Macy's Day Parade. In what was one of the most difficult secrets to keep, turned into a festive celebration as parents, teachers, students, members of the Noble Regiment and several distinguished guests including RUSD Board Members, Superintendent Ruben Frutos and his cabinet, and the Honorable Ed Royce among others joined the honorees in a fun-filled event.
The Macy's Day Parade Creative Director stated that over 175 school applied for the 2015 parade and Nogales was one of 10 schools selected and was the only school chosen from California. Mr. Pollock said, "A few of them started to get suspicious and even asked if the special assembly was about Macy's. I said no that it was just a special honor."  Mr. Pollock, Dr. Canal, and ASB Director Donna Nelson planned for the event for over two weeks, but kept the announcement mums.
The day of the event saw several news media outlets including Telemundo, Channels 5, 7, and 9, and National Public Radio, among others.
The Noble Regiment were ecstatic as the announcement was made and were showered with confetti and a special ballon drop that ASB students coordinated. Many parents were crying tears of joy and the Noble Regiment students hugged, gave high-fives, and danced around.
Dr. Canal introduced the event and welcomed all who attended. Mr. Pollock and the Nobel Regiment were presented with a special bass drum head with the Macy's star logo that served as the official invitation.
